Infertility Cervix Related Problems
There may be many reasons for problems related to fertility in a person. Unfortunately a definite rise in fertility problems has arisen in both men and women. Some of these fertility related complications are related to do with your cervix. These infertility cervix related complications can result in problems for females in conceiving a baby. Moreover, it may be possible to have miscarriage problems even if she is successful in conceiving.
The cervix in females can be visualized as the gateway between the female uterus and the vagina. Hence, it carries a certain importance, as it can be a real hindrance when there are problems related to your cervix. This can be caused by all kinds of problems ranging from the blockage of the mucus as well as damage to the cervix, physical configuration problems of the cervix and the pelvic area, chemical and physical abnormalities, fibroids and the misalignment of the position of the cervix.
In these infertility cervix related complications, the semen may not be able to pass through the cervix and thus it won’t be able to inseminate the ovaries. However, problems with cervical mucus can be more detrimental as compared to other infertility cervix complications. For the fertilization to take place, the semen has to move through the mucus, so that it can inseminate the ovaries after passing through the fallopian tubes. In mucus related cervix problems, the cervix may get infected (cervicitis). This can cause problems as an infected cervix will also let the bacteria through and the fallopian tubes can get infected too. The presence of bacteria can also cause the sperm to be killed even before they can reach the uterus.
Sometimes, the cervix may be too narrow and this can also make pregnancy unlikely. In these instances, the sperm won’t be able to pass through the cervical opening and as a result insemination will not take place. Also, there may be chemical problems so the cervix may not allow semen to pass.
The good news is that in most infertility cervix issues, the complications can be handled easily with various treatments. In mucus related problems, the complications can be cleared up by using certain medication that can help to clear it up. However, in physical abnormalities, you may have to undergo surgical procedures in order to handle these cervix related issues. But, with the help of modern medicine, the majority of infertility cervix related issues can be solved or at the least artificial insemination procedures can be done in order to allow the female to conceive a baby.
