How It All Started?
Aristes Calame, Le Locle, Switzerland, was the scion of a well-to-do farmer-watchmaker whose family is known for quality watchmaking. Aristes created his own studio in 1882 with the aim of producing a Swiss timepiece unlike any others. He felt that the way to achieve this was to control all stages of manufacturing, design of the watch production tools used in watchmaking. Originally named "Aristes Calame, Zodiac's name was used from the start but was registered in 1908.
In 1930 the company produced the first automatic sports watch.
